- Re: Shorter examination period:
- JCU has gone to a 2 week
exam period rather than 3
- The exam period starts on Friday, 4 June, and ends on
Friday, 18
June. Saturday, 5 June, is also an examination day.
- If you have
a complaint about your exam schedule, please contact
the Examinations Office (Humanities Building Tsv; Student Admin Cns).
- Possible unhappiness with the exam
schedule is not a valid reason for a Deferred
Exam.
- Re: Deferred examination (from the subject outline):
"The following policy was approved by the Faculty Executive Committee on
4 April 2002:
For all degrees administered by the Faculty of Science and Engineering
a request for a deferred examination will normally be refused if the student
has a poor record of participation in the subject.
This policy is on page 16 of the Manual of Procedures for Associate
Deans & Academic Advisers."
Satisfactory level of participation is
considered to be at least
- 80%
attendance of lectures (based on the lecture attendance
roll),
- 80% attendance of tutorials and
- 80% attendance of labs
